REEF CHECK ECO DIVER

A 4 day course to enable you to survey coral reefs globally

COLLECT DATA FOR SCIENTISTS

Become a certified Reef Check Eco Diver and contribute to global research

Divers and slates

Become certified to conduct your own Reef Check surveys and take an active role in conserving your favorite coral reefs.

This course is designed to teach you everything you need to know to conduct full scale Reef Check surveys.

Learn all about the globally standardized Reef Check methodology, as well as how to identify key indicator fish, invertebrates and substrates, providing data for research into the global health of coral reefs.

Reef Check is the most complete coverage of the marine ecosystem available in a short course today. You will discover a whole new world you had previously overlooked simply because no one has made you aware of it.

Reef Check partners with companies like OceanWatch, which sails the South Pacific, assisting indigenous cultures to develop better ways to fish and manage their local environments.

PREREQUISITES

Before beginning any of our marine conservation courses including the Reef Check Eco Diver, we need you to be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver with a Peak Performance Specialty certification.

Why? With Reef Check Eco Diver, we are conducting most of our scuba diving in very close proximity to the coral reefs. We need our students and interns to have a high level of buoyancy control as we do not want to cause any impact to the coral reef.

If you do not have these certifications, you can take these short courses before you start your Reef Check Eco Diver Course and boost your underwater skills
